The Wake Student Magazine is a student-operated arts, culture, and social commentary publication. These are pieces I created to go with articles for various issues of the Wake. Each illustration is accompanied by its corresponding article topic.
I started doing freelance art/graphics for the Wake, pictured under the issues, during my 2nd year at the University but was hired as a designer in my 4th year. I currently focus on publication/graphic design for the magazine while continuing to submit my personal art for feature pages.
The Independent Press Association’s Campus Journalism Project named the magazine and the website the Best Independent Campus Publication in 2006. “With each well-crafted issue, The Wake covers considerable ground… in a way that’s relevant to the campus community.”
